Molecular Solutions, Inc.
According to figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate for the US is at one of its lowest points in recent history. Within the pharmaceutical industry however, statistics show that the number of people employeed has increased steadily for the period 1993 to 2001. A look at the employment lists within NetSci or the Employment Sections of "Chemical & Engineering News" and "Science" highlight the fact that the industry is still looking for scientists. Locating a position that is "right for you" requires some advanced planning. Landing the position requires a mixture of skills which include scientific training, communication, and marketing. This seminar will look at the process of locating and securing a job as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. The presentation is divided into four sections:
- Defining Your Goals
- Creating an Inventory of Your Skills
- Advancing to the Next Stage of Your Career
- Securing Your Next Position
