Resumes - The Heading

The most important part of your resume is the information that a company needs to use to contact you. While there are several approaches to presenting your name and address, we have found that simple formats work the best. Please note that the resumes that follow are examples only! They have been assembled from many of the resumes that we have received over the past six years. A further note - the resumes in this seminar have been formatted for screen display, not for printer output. If you print these examples, the format will not resemble the screen appearance.

A word of caution in preparing your resume ... if a company wants to discuss your background with you or send company material for your review, they will use the contact information on your resume. If your business address is displayed, it will be used as the delivery address. This may be a problem for your current employer. If you put your company's address on the resume, be sure to identify it as the company address and put your home address and telephone number in a prominent location.
