| Description: | WellAware is a new product introduced at Lab Automation 2005 and PittCon 2005. WellAware eliminates errors and speeds manual pipetting between microplates and provides a cost-effective alternative to automated liquid handling. WellAware facilitates LIMS integration, cherry-picking, plate transposition, plate reformatting, serial dilution, and more. It can also be programmed for custom or kit protocols to improve operator consistency and provide a time-stamped record of pipetting steps. To use WellAware the source and target microplates rest on the upward-facing screen of a LCD monitor while the software guides the user by lighting up source and target wells and supplying text-to-speech audio cues. The WellAware Pipetting Aid comes as software or as a complete system which includes a computer with Windows XP Pro, Microsoft Office Basic, the WellAware software, a tilt-modified flat screen LCD monitor, a barcode scanner and a footswitch. WellAware can accommodate 1- to 16-channel pipetting between standard 24- to 384-well microplates or tube racks. WellAware's software will run on any PC that will run Excel 2000 and above. Please call or check out BioTXs website for more info: http://www.biotxautomation.com/wellaware.htm. WellAware requires a PC with Windows 2000 or Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2000 or later. | |
