VChem

Vchem is a fully functional molecular viewer that is based upon the 3 D graphics standard OpenGL and runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT PCs. A freely downloadable version is currently available from Virtual Chemistry . Address: 7770 Regents Road #251, San Diego, CA 92122; Phone/Fax: 619-587-8699; E-mail: info@VirtualChemistry.com.

This is an early version of the program and we will continue to enhance it. Although this version of the program is free and we cannot provide support, we do welcome your comments and suggestions at info@virtualchemistry.com. Virtual Chemistry, Inc. is a consulting company specializing in producing high quality scientific video animations and contract programming services. We make extensive use of an enhanced, in-house version of VChem running under Windows 95 for producing our video animations.

The VChem user interface is very straightforward. It follows the traditional Windows paradigm of the File, Edit, View, Window, Help menus. * The File menu handles all external interactions, for instance, reading and writing molecular data files and printing. * The Edit menu is for commands that modify the molecular system, for instance, pasting in another molecule or docking commands that change the coordinates.

More Vchem details and downloading instructions are available.
